Thank you so much for sorting out our trip to South Africa – what a holiday! The scenery was awesome and, as Andrew suggested, the safari was the undoubted highlight.
We stayed at Induli, a small lodge, which meant just four to six of us in the Land Cruiser on each drive and never more than two vehicles at any animal sighting. Our guide Budelo was outstanding – we saw every possible animal at very close quarters. Just the leopard eluded us!
In Cape Town, Four Rosmead was excellent – Jade, Nadine and Cecilia could not have been more helpful. The peninsula tour was stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed Table Mountain, the Red Bus, Kirstenbosch, the Waterfront, Camps Bay and De Groot Winery. Bacini’s, just around the corner from the hotel, was a great find for dinner.
In Franschhoek, Holden Manz was great for lunch and tastings, and lunch at La Petite Ferme was outstanding. Reuben’s and Monneaux were really good restaurants too. La Plume was a beautiful room with excellent food, and we loved the ostrich farm tour.
In Plettenberg Bay, Enrico’s was a lovely lunch spot, the Fat Fish was excellent and Emily Moon’s was great fun on a Friday night with a live band. The Old Rectory was lovely – wonderful food and service – and Birds of Eden and the Monkey Sanctuary were both fascinating visits.
We had such a great time. Thank you again Andy.
