Sales Manager

Sara grew up in Radlett until the age of eight, when her family moved to Hong Kong, an experience that shaped her lifelong love of the Far East. She returned to the UK in her mid-twenties and began her travel career in 2004 with TUI, before moving to a tour operator, though she missed the face-to-face client contact and returned to an independent, Andes Travel, in Harpenden.

When the directors retired and the company was sold to Co-op Travel, she stayed on for a while before a role came up at Travel with Kitts in Potters Bar, where she spent 15 years, ten of them as shop manager. Sara joined Beaver Travel in November 2024, looking for a change and finding exactly the right fit – she hasn’t looked back.

• Favourite destination you’ve ever visited? Malaysia, home to my very first family holiday as a child, to Malacca and Penang
• Dream destination still on the bucket list? South Africa, especially a safari – my next holiday!
• Favourite hotel or resort? Constance Moofushi, Maldives, watching manta rays, sharks and jumping fish from my water villa, and toes in the sand at the best beach bar ever, sipping a cocktail as the sun goes down

• Your specialist area? The Far East, a passion that started when I moved to Hong Kong as a child – I enjoyed many family holidays around Asia
• Favourite destination to recommend to clients? Sri Lanka, so much to offer, stunning scenery, wildlife and culture, and still good value
• Top travel tip for customers? Travel with curiosity, not just a checklist; engage with the local culture; and learn a few local words – it goes a long way
